Privacy Policy – CV Maker
This policy explains what information the CV Maker app for Android (“the app”) handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. The app is published by Adroid Apps (“we”, “us”).
- There are no accounts. You never sign up or sign in.
- Your CVs, cover letters and photos are stored on your device. We do not have servers that receive them, and we cannot see them.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects device and advertising information to serve and measure ads.
- The app sends crash reports to Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix bugs. Crash reports do not contain your CV content.
- We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information you enter
To build a CV you may enter personal details such as your name, job title, email address, phone number, address, date of birth, nationality, marital status, education, work history, skills, languages, references, and a profile photo, as well as cover-letter text.
All of this is saved only in the app’s private storage on your device. It is not uploaded to us or to any server we operate. It is never used for advertising and is never included in crash reports.
Profile photos are chosen through Android’s system photo picker. The app receives only the one image you select, and never gets access to the rest of your photo library. The selected image is copied into the app’s private storage.
2. When your information leaves the app – only when you choose
- Export, download and print. When you download a PDF or Word file, it is saved to your device’s Downloads folder. When you print, the document is passed to the Android print service and the printer you pick.
- Share. When you tap Share, the file goes to the app you choose (for example email or a messaging app). What happens next is governed by that app’s privacy policy.
- Backup files. “Back up all CVs” creates a file in a location you choose, such as your device, Google Drive or another storage provider. “Restore from backup” reads a file you select.
3. Android device backup
If you have Android backup turned on for your Google account, Android may automatically back up the app’s data, including your saved CVs, photos and settings, to your own Google account, and restore it when you set up a new device. This backup is performed by Android and Google, not by us. The app allows it only when the backup can be encrypted, and we have no access to it. You can turn backup off in your device settings (typically Settings → Google → Backup).
4. Information collected automatically
The app uses the following third-party services from Google. They collect information directly from your device under their own privacy policies.
| Service | What it collects | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (advertising) | Advertising ID, IP address, device and operating-system information, app information, and interactions with ads (views, clicks, rewarded-video completion). | To show ads, to measure them, to prevent fraud and, where you have consented, to personalise them. |
| Google User Messaging Platform (consent) | Your consent choices and the information needed to decide whether a consent request applies in your region. | To ask for, record and respect your advertising consent where the law requires it. |
| Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting) | Crash and error details (stack traces), device model, operating-system version, app version, and a random installation identifier. No CV content. | To find and fix crashes and bugs. |
| Google Play (in-app updates) | The installed app version, checked against Google Play. | To tell you when an update is available. |

5. Advertising and your choices
- Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland). If you are in a region where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time from the app’s menu under “Ad privacy choices”.
- Advertising ID. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads on most devices). Once deleted, it is not used for personalised ads.
- Rewarded videos are optional. They play only when you tap “Watch video” to unlock a premium design.
- Ads in the app are limited to content suitable for a general audience.
6. How long information is kept
- Your CVs and photos stay on your device until you delete them in the app, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app.
- Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
- Advertising data is kept by Google according to Google’s own retention policies.
7. Deleting your information
Because there is no account, there is nothing to delete on our side. To remove your data:
- delete individual CVs inside the app, or
- clear the app’s storage (Settings → Apps → CV Maker → Storage → Clear storage), or
- uninstall the app.
Also delete any backup or exported files you saved elsewhere, and any Android device backup in your Google account, if you want those gone too. Advertising data can be managed through your device’s ad settings and Google My Ad Center.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU and UK GDPR, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Your CV data is under your control on your device. For data held by Google’s services, you can use the controls described above or contact Google. For any other request, contact us using the details below.
9. Children
The app is intended for people preparing job applications and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will help.
10. Security
Your data is stored in the app’s private storage, which other apps cannot read. Data sent to Google services travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so please protect your device with a screen lock.
11. Permissions
- Internet and network state: for ads, crash reports and update checks. Your CVs are not sent anywhere.
- Storage (Android 9 and older only): to save downloaded files to your Downloads folder. Newer Android versions need no permission for this.
- Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob as described above.
The app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, SMS or call logs.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at this address. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes on Google Play.
